🛠️ How to Install Thermal Metal Siding Panels with Decorative Finishes

🧰 Tools and Materials Needed

  • Measuring tape and chalk line
  • Spirit level and plumb line
  • Circular saw with metal/PU cutting blade or hand shears
  • Screw gun or drill driver
  • Self-tapping screws with sealing washers
  • Starter strips and corner trims (metal profiles)
  • Sealant tape or PU foam (optional)
  • Safety gear (gloves, goggles, helmet)

1 🔨 Prepare the Wall Surface

  1. Check wall flatness and ensure the substrate is level.
  2. Install vertical battens or steel furring strips as needed (400–600 mm spacing).
  3. Install a perfectly level starter strip at the bottom to align the first row of panels.

2 ✂️ Panel Layout and Cutting

  1. Measure wall dimensions to determine panel quantities and necessary cuts.
  2. Cut panels using a circular saw with a fine-tooth metal/PU blade. Avoid angle grinders.
  3. Always cut panels from the backside to protect the decorative surface.

3 📐 Installing the First Panel

  1. Place the female edge of the first panel onto the starter strip.
  2. Ensure the panel is vertically plumb and aligned.
  3. Fix using self-tapping screws with sealing washers.
  4. Do not overtighten screws to avoid panel distortion.

4 🔧 Interlocking Subsequent Panels

  1. Insert the female joint of the new panel into the male groove of the installed panel.
  2. Gently tap with a rubber mallet if necessary.
  3. Fix each panel to the substructure at recommended intervals (600–800 mm).
  4. Progress across the wall from bottom to top and corner to corner.

5 🔗 Corner Treatment and Trims

  1. Outside corners: Use pre-fabricated corner trims matching panel finish.
  2. Inside corners: Use dedicated inside corner profiles or angle trims.
  3. Window and door openings: Install J-trims or U-profiles.
  4. Top edge: Install cap trim or flashing for waterproofing.

6 🛡️ Sealing and Thermal Performance (Optional)

  • Apply sealant tape or PU foam in high wind/rain areas.
  • Seal around window frames and penetrations properly.

7 ✔️ Final Inspection

  1. Check that all panels are securely fastened.
  2. Verify horizontal and vertical alignment.
  3. Inspect trims and flashings.
  4. Clean the panel surfaces of dust and debris.
